140MN Open Die Forging Hydraulic Press will be Launched Production in 2011

Recently, Sunan Heavy Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Electric Shanghai Heavy Machinery Plant Co., Ltd (SHMP) signed the contract of 140MN and 66MN open die forging hydraulic press in Changshu City, Jiangsu Province. The two parties also signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly build the core competitiveness of large-size forgings, increasing domestic and international market share of forgings.
140MN, 66MN open die forging hydraulic press will be the most important equipment in Sunan Heavy. They will be mainly used for producing large-size forgings, which can carry out cogging for large-size pieces and upsetting, drawing, piercing and so on for all kinds of shafts, discs, rings and cylinders etc. The mechanical parts of the 140MN Press are designed by TS, the Czech company. The mechanical parts of the 66MN Press are designed by SHMP. Oilgear Company takes charge of Electro-hydraulic control system of two presses. Recently, SHMP signed a subcontract with ANTEK Co., Ltd., the agency of Oilgear and TS. At present, all works have started. The 140MN press has the largest size of 8.5m between columns in world and has weight of about 5,000 ton. According to the contract, the two presses will be manufactured, installed, commissioned and launched production in the end of year 2011.
This project is a flagship project in forging industry and focuses on national strategies. Two presses will be used for manufacturing large-size forgings of nuclear power and will contribute to equipment manufacturing industry in China.
