The Schuler Group??s 4^th Metalforming Symposium in Shanghai and Changchun took place from June 23 to June 27, 2008.  Under the motto ??Press Shop Solutions from a Strong Partnership?? the Schuler Group introduced its products and services to more than 300 participants from the automobile OEM and supplier sectors.  Over a period of two days each technical papers were presented and face-to-face sessions were held on topics such as servo technology, high-speed blanking presses, warm forming and hydroforming.  The technical presentations were rounded out by a plant tours at Shanghai Volkswagen and FAW ?C Volkswagen Changchun.  Prof. Hoffman Director of the Institute of Metal Forming and Casting, Technical University Munich, Germany provided the participants with some interesting insights into new materials.  Sabine Kreiser, Marketing Manager of the Schuler Group in China, summed up the rationale for the event as follows: ??The Symposium offers us the ideal venue for an exchange of ideas with our customers about existing and future projects.  There is also a lot of potential in the Asian markets for our new service concept.??
