Dec 18, 2000, three companies jointly provided the funds, the Southwest Aluminium Fabrication Plant was reformed its system into the Southwest Aluminium (Group) Co., Ltd subordinated to the CHINALCO. Through 40 year’s construction and development, SWA has become the comprehensive super large size aluminium fabrication enterprise for its largest production scale, most advanced equipment, most full ranged product varieties in China, and also the material guarantee base for our national aviation and aerospace, the manufacturing base for high, precise, sophisticated aluminium sheets, strips and foils, the exporting base of fabricated aluminium products in China.
Southwest Aluminium gathers together the most advanced technical equipment amongst China’s aluminium fabrication industry, which equipped with the largest Die Forging Press of 30,000t and horizontal Extrusion Press of 12500t in Asia, the widest 2-stands 2800mm Hot Rolling Mills & 2800mm Cold Rolling Mill in China, the state-of-the-arts 1850mm high speed cold Rolling Mills, 1700mm Foil Mills, 8000t Extrusion Press, 1600mm color Coating Line, the largest and most advanced 6000t Stretching Machine presently in China, and first ???+4???Hot Tandem Rolling Line in China with the world state-of-the-art, as well as the facilities such as architectural profiles & surface anodizing treatment production lines.
SWA is taking aim both to the domestic market and the advanced international aluminium processing technology, giving full play to the enterprise’s core competitive power, SWA has oriented its target market scientifically, and expanded application field of aluminium products constantly, so that, 6 series of leading products used in the field of aviation and aerospace, communication and transportation, packaging, electronics and electric home appliance, printing, architecture and decoration have been formed.
Upon the distinctive trademark & brand strategy and well-planned market promotion, SWA has established a most efficient marketing network, and carried out “overall operation considering all factors???policy which combines both of products operation and assets operation, the volume of production output and sales as well as the export revenue ranked first in the same industry domestically in China for years. By the end of 2004, SWA has supplied over 2 million tons of various kinds of aluminium products for all trades and fields, and exported fabricated aluminium up to 27,000 tons.
SWA hold a state-certified R&D institution --- Technical Center, which consisted of a committee of experts, a research institute of aluminium alloy processing, eight professional laboratories, an Al-Li alloy researching production line, it is engaged in scientific research & development of new products, new techniques at three levels of short period, medium and long-term.
We have abundant human resources, there are 1 academician of the China Academy of Engineering, 22 specialists enjoying the state government allowance, and 2206 professional technical personnel, among whom 9% are granted senior-level technical title, 45% are granted medium-level technical title.
